I love chocolate cake but who doesn't?well actually  a few people don't maybe because some chocolate cakes contain a lot of cocoa.so how about baking your own chocolate cake so that you get to measure how much cocoa you want in your cake?

How to make chocolate fudge cake

I used simple to find but perfect Ingredients.
For this recipe I used.

  • White granulated sugar
  • unsweetened cocoa powder
  • baking powder
  • vegetable oil
  • pure vanilla extract
  • milk
  • instant coffee powder
  • heavy cream
  • dark chocolate chips

I love this easy chocolate fudge cake,it was easy to make and the ingredients were easy to find.

Picking the type of sugar to use

I used white granulated sugar but you can use icing sugar or castor sugar.

Chocolate Ganache

You can either choose to buy already made chocolate Ganache or you can make it yourself.
I made mine

Cook time 45 Minutes

Cake Ingredients


  • 2 Cups all purpose Flour
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar or natural graduated baking sweetener
  • 1 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vannila extract2 Cups milk
  • 1 Cups boiling water
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee powder


Chocolate Ganache Ingredients


  • 1 cup heavy cream or thickened cream
  • 250 grams semi sweet or dark chocolate chips


Chocolate Cake Instructions

 1   In a large mixing bowl,mix flour,sugar,cocoa powder, baking powder and salt and whisk thoroughly til combined.

 2   Put your cup of water in a pot then heat on the stove

3    In a separate bowl mix eggs,oil, vanilla.
Whisk your mixture thoroughly  til smooth
Pour your mixture to your  flour mixture.
Whisk your mixture.

Remove your water from the stove and add in a cup
Add coffee to your water,mix thoroughly til a perfect coffee is formed.

 Lastly pour your coffee in your cake mixture and whisk til smooth and glossy.

Lightly grease can 8 inch round cake pan with non stick cooking oil spray or grease with cooking oil.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 40-45 minutes.

Note to make sure that the cake is ready,insert a toothpick in the middle,when your cake is ready tour toothpick will come out semi-clean with small amount of cake.(not runny batter)

When your cake is ready remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20 minutes.
Transfer your cake from the pan to a wire rack and cool completely before frosting.


Chocolate Ganache Instructions

1 Pour the cream into a small saucepan and heat over low heat for a few.
Once the cream is hot,turn off the stove and take the sauce pan off the heat.

2 add in the chocolate chips
Cover the saucepan with a lid and let it sit for 5 minutes to soften the chocolate.

3  Uncover and stir slowly with a spatula or a wooden spoon
Gradually mixing faster until the Ganache is smooth,creamy and glossy.

4  Refrigerate for an hour until thick enough to spread evenly over the cake
