Baked Chicken Pie Recipe is irresistible.at this stage I don't know which one is tastier,meat pies,mince meat pie or this chicken pie.Perhaps we can all agree that these pies are all tastier, that's the reason why you readers keep on coming back for more recipes and the reason why I keep on coming up with different versions.
Believe me I have so many recipes to share but time doesn't permit me to do that everyday.

This recipe is golden on the outside but tender on the inside,golden puffy pastry tender chicken filled with potatoes,peas, carrots, Onion etc.
This chicken pie recipe is tasty,moist, creamy with the perfect vegetables to compliment the pie.
I make pies every weekend, mostly I make meat pies or mince meat pie,these pies are really my favorite.
I saw chicken pie recipe on Facebook and I thought of trying it,so here it is.I love sharing recipes with you my readers so I hope you'll enjoy this recipe as my as I and the kids did.

PICKING THE CHICKEN PARTS TO USE

When it comes to picking the parts of the chicken you'll use to make the chicken pie,the whole process can be overwhelming but don't worry I am here to help.
Use chicken breast as they are the softest parts of the chicken, another option is the drumsticks, drumsticks are the second softest parts,so they are a good option.
Actually come to think of it, drumsticks are softer than chicken breasts but drumsticks have bones.i don't think anyone wants bones in their chicken pie,or do you?.

Homemade chicken pie

This homemade chicken pie is tastier and easier to make
√ 800g puff pastry
√ 2 large cubed chicken breasts
√ A cup of peas (frozen or Fresh)
√ 1 Large diced onion
√ 2 diced Carrots
√ 1 Large cubed Potato
√ 1 Chicken stock cube
√ 1 Tablespoon of flour
√ 1 Tablespoon of butter
√ 200mls of milk
√ 1 Teaspoon Of Thyme
√ Salt and pepper
√ Oil
√ 1 Egg

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN PIE 
Start by Sautéing your chicken in oil,add onions,carrots and potato and lightly brown them.add in the stock cube and a cup of water,simmer for 10 minutes.Throw in the herbs,add pinch of salt and pepper,add a tablespoon of flour,butter and milk to thicken the filling.simmer uncovered for 15 minutes.add peas right at the end so as not to overcook the peas.leave to cool.

Preheat your oven to 190°C.lightly grease your dish and roll out your pastry to fit the dish for the top and the bottom.place your chicken filling and cover with the remaining pastry.egg wash the top of the pie with egg yolk for a more golden brown look.bake for 30 minutes.
