This chicken chapati wrap recipe is simple and straightforward.

INGREDIENTS AND VARIATIONS

Flour: all-purpose flour. You can make the chicken kathi roll more healthy by using wheat flour. You can also add flax seed, millet or powdered oats to the wheat flour.

Chicken: Use skinless, boneless chicken breast or thighs.

Vegetables: Tomatoes, Cucumbers,Lettuce, Green pepper,onion.

Oil: Use olive oil,if you do not have Olive oil then you can use vegetable oil or avocado oil.

Seasoning: Garlic sauce, cubes of butter,grated Garlic, full cream fresh milk,black pepper, mint,garlic,banana yogurt, salt,white sauce and mustard

TIPS AND FAQ

Pat dry the chicken to remove excess moisture before slicing your pieces. Patting dry the chicken will prevent the chicken from becoming watery and diluted.

Can I make the dough in advance?

Yes you can. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes after making it, then cover it tightly with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 48 hours.

What can be made with homemade tortillas?

You can make quesadillas,enchiladas,burritos, tacos etc.

Can I make tortillas with gluten-free flour? 

I have never made tortillas with gluten free flour but the sky is the limit. Try it and let's see how it will go.

Do I need to grease the skillet?

I always grease my skillet but flour coating the tortillas actually prevents them from sticking.

How to make chicken chapati roll

Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, add 2 cups all-purpose flour and salt. Use a wooden spoon to stir. Add 2 teaspoons olive oil and ¾ cup of warm water. Stir using the wooden spoon til the dough is soft.

2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until soft. Divide the dough into 10 equal parts. 

3. Roll each piece into a ball. Let rest for a few minutes.


4. Heat a pan over medium heat, lightly grease. Using a rolling pin roll out the dough balls on a floured surface. 

5. Put chapati on a pan once the pan gets hot. One chapati at a time.

6. Cook for 30 seconds then flip and cook the other side. 

7. Continue with the remaining dough balls.


For the filling

1. Slice chicken breast into strips.on a medium heat, fry the chicken breast for 10 minutes, Add black pepper, garlic powder, mint, 1 teaspoon of banana yoghurt, salt and mustard.

1. Put your chapati on a clean wooden board, add your chicken strips,tomatoes,onion,green pepper, cucumbers and lettuce.

This Garlic Cream Sauce is made just by preparing the following ingredients.

Butter: both salted and unsalted butter works just great for this recipe.

Flour: all-purpose flour is a great option.

Garlic: Fresh Garlic works better. Avoid using Garlic powder or dry Garlic. 

No one is a fan of peeling and chopping Garlic but chopping it for just a few minutes won't hurt.

3.Add the grated garlic and fresh full cream milk to the bowl. stir until you have a perfect sauce.
